Oracle Database Administrator

Responsibilities:

• Support onsite team with the various Production activities
• Installation, upgrade and patching of Oracle 9i and 10G software on Sun Solaris platforms
• Recovering of database upon request
• DB and SQL performance tuning
• Examination and Implementation of structure and data changes to support application development
• Production Support
• Storage management
• Database monitoring
• Troubleshooting
• Network configuration
• Security administration (creating users and giving/removing access to databases)
• Provide technical support to clients for database-related issues

Requirements:

Essential:

• Minimum of four years of Oracle DBA experience within a 24x7 production support environment
• Oracle 9i - installation on Sun Solaris platforms, patching, upgrade, troubleshooting, backup, recovery
• Oracle 10g - installation on different platforms, patching, troubleshooting, backup, recovery, 10g RAC
• Excellent skills in performance tuning of database and SQL
• Strong SH/KSH scripting skills. Ability to write UNIX scripts for DBA task automation
• Strong PL/SQL programming skills
• Precise/SQL
• Oracle10g RAC installation, configuration and maintenance

Desirable:

• Timesten installation, DSN & Replication creation and trouble shooting skills
• Some technical leadership experience strongly preferred
• Prior experience in
- the telecommunications industry,
- Sun Solaris,
- data warehousing,
- Amdocs Applicative DBA in-house tools,
- Amdocs product and Amdocs development lifecycle

Education:

• University degree in IT or equivalent

• Fluent written and spoken English
